Challenge: Organise a service design event for strangers to join together for a 48-hour Jam to ideate and prototype. Cities around the world join in and are inspired by one secret theme. Working together at a similar pace making prototypes, testing them, failing fast and remaking them. The purpose is to learn new ways of addressing old issues, making new connections, and to have a lot of fun in the process.
The Helsinki Global Service Jam was held with contributions from Think Company (the space), Frantic (speaker and materials), Futurice (speaker and templates).
Results: A team of 7 organisers created an unforgettable event for 33 participants in just over 2 weeks.
New ideas and concepts were explored and pursued by 6 teams. We were able to teach the double diamond process and various service design tools.
