The Global Service Jam is about bringing people together to develop new services. During a Service Jam, small teams in locations all over the world are working at the same time for an intense 48 hours to build entirely new service offerings. The diverse teams (which find each other at the Jam) will move from ideas to hands-on solutions using methods from service design, innovative problem solving, and rapid prototyping – with experienced service designers as their mentors. Service Jams are open to everyone and it is all about learning by doing but mostly about having fun.
Methods and tools:
Drawing, Ideation, In-person interviews, Idea cards for the interviewees to help in communication, Clustering, Idea confrontation, Voting, Personas, Service blueprint, Customer Journey, Business Model Canvas, Play prototyping (Lego), Video presentation
A physical and digital 'makers' toolkit that could be sold to housing companies for the use of their residents. Giving access to individuals to equipment that they cannot afford by themselves. Empowering individuals to upcycle, repair and creatively invent and prototype close to home.
