As a vocational teacher, my actions are based on knowledge of vocational and professional education.
- I chose this one because I wanted to really concentrate on learning and teaching theories. I wanted to much more firm grasp of why and how teaching learning happens. I believe that I have fulfilled this as I now have explored teaching theories such as Cognitivism, Connectivism, Experiential Learning, and Behaviourism. I have also explored issues related to blended learning, motivations, and collaborative learning. These have all helped me to form a better idea not only of who I am as a teacher, but how my students will receive my teaching/coaching in the future.
I found the theory of Enthusiasm and Risk-Taking to be very illuminating for the topics that I teach. With its three intertwined concepts of experimentation, relevance, and curiosity, this theory is exactly what I am looking to create with each class I teach. I want to promote risk-taking (which mean experimentation, rather than something actually physically or financially risky), I want to promote enthusiasm (which is done by increasing relevance to each individual student), and I want to promote curiosity (a skill that will help them in every avenue of their life).

- This to me is really about constructing environments, content, and assessment that will get people jobs. It is so important that what you teach people will add to their real and tangible skills - whether those be hard or soft skills. The projects that I worked on have really helped to work with industry representatives, with students themselves and with colleagues. The teaching I have been doing with The Shortcut is a TE-Office approved training programme. It is designed specifically to give hard and soft skills to individuals who are adults looking for work. They want marketable and modern skills. This is so important in today's difficult job market. Collaborating with The Shortcut, Aalto Startup Center, and Suomen Yrittäjät has allowed me to develop all the skills required in this competence.

- I came into this teacher training programme really wanting to specialise in online learning environments. The Coronavirus has given me the opportunity to gain extensive skills and experience in the online learning processes and learning environments. These have often been developed alongside my networks and communities. I need to check what they know how to use and set aside time to teach them if it is vital that we use a specific online tool. It has been amazing to see everyone's willingness to try new tools and methods during this difficult time. As we say in English "needs must". Which means that it the need arises, we must do it. This is exactly the attitude that most people have taken when it comes to online learning.
